Nicholas Patrick Allen, known as Niklen online, is a 25-year-old American with Irish/Welsh/German roots born in Santa Monica, CA. As the only son of his theatre creative/interior designer mother from SF/NYC and his tech salesman father from OC, he attended local theatre, learned a couple instruments, and was a part of the school choir. His love for writing, the classics, the arts, the silver screen, and mythology rung through elementary school in the books he read and school projects that he created.
Having been accepted through a regional feeder charter/magnet middle school, Nick attended Pacific Palisades Charter High School, joined its swim and dive team, a local aquatics club, and entered the workforce as a swim coach and data analyst. After having been inspired to continue working on poetry after a reading in the classroom, Nick proceeded to start the process of the Hugr Edda Project.
After a short break traveling after high school graduation, he went to Santa Monica College for two AA-Ts and an Associate’s in Liberal Arts: Social and Behavioral Science and worked in the food industry. He then attended and graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Anthropology and a Scandinavian minor. He worked in the Geoarchaeological Southwest Asia Prehistory Laboratory (Kharaneh IV, Jordan Assemblage), the Gadgil Laboratory (Allensworth, CA, USA Assemblage), and the Folklore Archives while he attended. Also, he attended the Institute for Field Research’s Monastic Midlands Excavation program (Birr, Ireland Assemblage). As for now, he continues his studies and poetry and is looking for future employment
